ATV rider hurt

BURNSIDE - A Palmyra man was injured in an accident at the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure (AOAA) Area Friday afternoon.

AOAA operations director David Porzi said Gary Shuey, 54, was riding a Polaris ATV down a rocky trail when the vehicle flipped and landed on him. Shuey was up and walking when AOAA personnel arrived at the scene, Porzi said, but it's believed he suffered a broken collarbone.

The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. south of Excelsior.

Shuey was taken back to the welcome center along Route 125 near Burnside, from where AREA Ambulance transported him to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Shuey was wearing proper gear, including a helmet, Porzi said.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Eric A. Zlotorzynski, 37, of 225 S. Fourth St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with retail theft for allegedly stealing $67.48 worth of merchandise from Walmart Supercenter April 22.

Woman in crash

PENN TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:13 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Route 204 and Fair Oak Road, in Penn Township, Snyder County.

State police at Selinsgrove say a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Marcy A. Morre, 55, of Shamokin, was stopped in the north lane of Route 204 waiting to turn left onto Fair Oak Road when a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Jessica Lawton, 19, of Winfield, struck her from behind.

No one was injured in the crash and both vehicles suffered minor damage. Police cited Lawton in the crash.

Marijuana charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - Lakisha Michelle Jackson, 24, of Philadelphia, was charged by Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington with possession of a small amount of marijuana relating to an April 26 incident in the parking lot at SCI-Coal Township.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Shane Mowery has charged Brandon Thew, 22, of 612 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a May 19 incident at his home.

Police reported Thew possessed two needles, a burnt spoon, razor blade, cotton balls and a large number of empty blue wax paper packets commonly used to package heroin.

Retail theft

MONROE TOWNSHIP - State police charged Nicole M. Koss, 29, of Danville, with retail theft and receiving stolen property after she allegedly removed $850.20 worth of item from the Target department store in the Monroe Marketplace at 7:30 p.m. May 30.

Pump missing

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - The PennDOT maintentence department in Montour County reported to state police at Milton a hydraulic post pump, valued at $2,500, was lost along the highway at the intersection of Route 45 and 642 in Liberty Township at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Simple assault

SHAMOKIN - Bridget Ann O'Connell, 33, of 4 N. Marshall St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Shane Mowery with simple assault and harassment involving an April 24 disturbance at 615 E. Webster St.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, O'Connell punched Kim Dornsife in the face, causing her mouth to bleed.

Retail theft

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Sean Thomas Reichner, 18, of Coal Township, was charged by state police at Selinsgrove with retail theft after allegedly stealing three shirts and a pair of shorts, valued at $74.97. from the Kohl's department store in the Monroe Marketplace. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John H. Reed, of Selinsgrove.

Suicide threat

SHAMOKIN - An adult male threatening suicide was taken into custody Saturday and transported for psychiatric evaluation at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of South Franklin Street about 5:40 p.m. and lasted three hours. The man was subdued by police officers with a Taser.

No injuries were reported. A child was inside the home at the time. Northumberland County Children and Youth responded.

Charges will not be filed, and the man's name was withheld by police due to the nature of the incident, according to Shamokin Patrolman Shane Mowery.

Shamokin police officers responding were Mowery, patrolmen William Zalinski, Nathan Rhodes and Ray Siko and Chief Darwin Tobias. Assisting were officers from Coal Township and Ralpho Township police departments.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - Janell Schickley, 39, of 1039 W. Water St., and Delvin Williams, 30, of 1042 W. Water St., were cited for disorderly conduct for a neighbor dispute at 7:20 p.m. Sunday.

Patrolman Joshua M. Wynn said the two individuals were in a heated argument and screaming and cursing in public after being warned by the police to stop.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - Gabrielle Poplaski, 19, of 629 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was cited by Shamokin police with underage drinking for an incident occurring around 10 p.m. June 2 at 140 S. Franklin St.

Police said Poplaski admitted to consuming beer. She had a positive preliminary breath test, police said.

Exposure

COAL TOWNSHIP - Kyle Q. Gulliver, 18, of 351 S. Harrison St., and Derek K. Weaver, 18, of 413 W. Spruce St., both of Shamokin, were cited for disorderly conduct after the two walked around Bay Street near Hill Street with their underwear down, exposing their buttocks at 2 p.m. May 31.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Eric Mendler, 32, and Kristian Skavery, 29, both of 740 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, were charged by township police Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft after incidents at the Walmart SuperCenter.

Police said the two individuals make a fraudulent return of stolen merchandise with a value of $59.80 April 29. The pair did the same thing again on May 3, this time for $144.63. The total value of the loss to the store was $204.43.

Burglary

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 12-year-old Shamokin male was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft by Coal Township Police after allegedly being caught stealing property inside 850 W. Independence St. at noon May 2. The charges were filed in Northumberland County Juvenile Court.

Cables stolen

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington report a 28-year-old Coal Township will be charged with theft from a motor vehicle, and trespassing after a theft at the coal stripping off of Route 2044 in Zerbe Township at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police report the male, whose identity is known to police, went onto private property and got into an unlocked vehicle owned by Fox Coal Company, Mount Carmel. The burglar removed a gas can and a pair of jumper cables from the scene.

PFA violation

LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington say a 38-year-old known male from Bloomsburg will be charged with a Protection from Abuse violation after an incident at 861 Riland Road at 6:25 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the male drove onto the property where a 35-year-old female from Sunbury lives and removed a trailer from the area. Five minutes later, the male drove another vehicle onto the property and threw junk mail out the window and left the scene.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest through the office of Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum, of Sunbury.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Austin A. Barry, 18, of Shamokin, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop by state police at Stonington at 7:46 p.m. Sunday in the area of Lincoln and Liberty streets.

Police report an investigation showed that Barry was wanted in Schuylkill County, but a report did not give any indication if he was taken into custody.

Burglary

KULPMONT - Joseph Staskiel, 22, of Kulpmont, was charged with burglary and related offenses following a break-in of a Scott Street residence at 11:05 p.m. Saturday

State police at Stonington report that Staskiel allegedly entered the residence through the back door by force, but was found and apprehended inside the residence.

He was arraigned at the state police station on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief, and placed in Snyder County Prison on $20,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Brian Petrovich, 37, of 34 N. Second St., was cited by city police Patrolman Nathan Rhodes for public drunkenness after being found under the influence of alcohol and lying next to a tree in the area of Sixth and Arch streets at 12:26 a.m. Saturday.

Hit and run crash

RIVERSIDE - Police are looking for the driver that caused a crash at 4 p.m. June 5 on Sunbury Road near the intersection with Avenue G.

State police at Stonington say an unknown vehicle was traveling east on Sunbury Road when it struck a 2012 Ford Focus, driven by Melissa A. Carper, 23, of Danville. The unknown vehicle then continued to travel on Sunbury Road after striking Carper's vehicle. The victim then turned around and went back to her residence.

No one was injured and Carper said that it was a blue-colored vehicle with an unknown registration.

Criminal trespass

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Kyle Mirolli, 33, of Shamokin, was cited for criminal trespass after an incident at 10:30 p.m. June 4 at a residence at 1020 W. Market St.

State police at Stonington say Mirolli allegedly pushed an air conditioning window unit into the residence, then entered through the window. Mirolli then started to yell at Mindy Wynn, 35, of Trevorton, and went through the house before fleeing the scene.

The citation was filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Hit and run

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are searching for a driver that damaged three vehicles on Route 61 in Shamokin Township at 8:15 p.m. June 3.

Police said the vehicle, described as a tractor towing a Great Dane trailer, was attempting to negotiate a right hand turn from the intersection with Route 487 to Route 61 when the vehicle sideswiped a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, a 2009 Ford Escape and a 2009 Hyundai Accent. A witness identified a registration of 5803KH, but was unable to identify the state the plate was from.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township Patrolman Jason Adams reported someone struck the passenger side mirror of a white 2014 Ford F-150 truck while it was parked in the 200 block of Webster Street, Ranshaw, between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Kenneth M. Holland, 34, of 705 N. Sunbury St., Sunbury, was charged with two felony counts of retail theft after alleged stealing $767.45 worth of merchandise from the Walmart SuperCenter in Coal Township between May 28 and 29.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police report the driver side mirror of a tan 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck while parked in the 00 block of South Thomas Street between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7:38 a.m. Wednesday.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township Patrolman Matthew Hashuga charged John Howe Jr., 23, of Coal Township, and Cassondra Senoski, 20, of Shamokin, with two counts of retail theft and a charge of conspiracy to commit retail theft.

Police said the two allegedly stole $141.05 worth of merchandise from the Walmart Supercenter April 12 and May 7. Police said it is Howe's second offense; he has a prior conviction for retail theft in 2013.

Bird found

COAL TOWNSHIP - A small parrot-type bird was located in the eastern end of Coal Township Tuesday. Anyone who may have lost or own the bird can contact Coal Township Police at 570-644-0333.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Matthew Hernandez, 20, and Amanda Hernandez, 24, both of 105 W. Girard St., were charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft by Coal Township Patrolman Matthew Hashuga. Police said the two individuals allegedly stole $467.11 worth of merchandise from the Walmart SuperCenter in Coal Township between March 3 and April 29.

Hindering apprehension

MOUNT CARMEL - Frank R. Allen, 48, of East Avenue, was charged with two felony counts of hindering the apprehension or prosecution of a suspect by Mount Carmel Borough Police Chief Todd Owens for his alleged role in a April 18 prisoner escape.

Owens reported in court documents that Allen failed to report that burglary suspect Michael Fickinger came to his home while on the run from police, and failed to call police when Fickinger was there.

Allen was charged June 4 and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.

Child endangerment

DEN-MAR GARDENS - Mount Carmel Township Police charged Norman J. Hemerka, 43, of 149 Nevada Drive, Kulpmont, with endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct following an incident at his apartment building at 8:39 p.m. May 22.

Patrolman David Tomtishen reported Hemerka allegedly drove over a curb in an intoxicated state with his son in the vehicle. Police said they did not charge the suspect with driving under the influence because they did not witness him drive.

Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled July 1.

Drug paraphernalia

KULPMONT - Charles A. Klischer, 32, of 902 Spruce St., Kulpmont, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found two syringes and a glass pipe inside Klischer's residence during a visit by the Northumberland County Probation Department.

The charge was filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 24.

DUI charges filed

RIVERSIDE - Borough police officer Jennifer Goss charged Andrew R. Rodriguez, 25, of 1113 Mifflin St., Lebanon, with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.

The charges step from a traffic stop in the area of Mill and Eighth streets in Riverside at 12:19 a.m. May 12. Chemical testing showed Rodriguez was under the influence of marijuana at the time, and had a marijuana-rolled cigar in his vehicle, police said.

A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, Mount Carmel, is set for July 1.

Mower stolen

IRISH VALLEY - State police at Stonington charged Thomas L. Bennett, 20, of 1134 Irish Valley Road, Shamokin Township, with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Police allege Bennett took a push mower, owned by John James Clark, from Clark's property. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shamokin, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 14.

Altered plates

NATALIE - Mount Carmel Township Police charged Cleatus C. English, 59, of 410 E. North St., Marion Heights, with two counts of driving with altered, forged or counterfeit documents and plates, and driving without registration and certificate of title on Tuesday.

Township Police Patrolman Michael Filarski reported in court documents that in 2012, English was using a vehicle belonging to the estate of another individual without permission. When the vehicle was pulled over, officers found several stolen registration stickers on the license plate, they said.

English was released on $5,000 unsecured bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Shane Clements, 24, of 1100 E. Race St., reported to police that someone cut the Internet cable at his home, then threw a can of tomato sauce and a bottle of syrup into his swimming pool.

Kids left alone

KULPMONT - Amber M. Wondoloski, 28, of 601 Chestnut St., Apartment 2R, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by borough police.

Patrolman Bradley Harvey reported in court documents that Wondoloski allegedly allowed her three children, ages 8, 7 and 4, in her apartment without supervision, and with an oven open that was turned on between 1:26 and 2:49 a.m. April 3.

Wondoloski was arraigned Wednesday on the charge and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

PFA violation

COAL TOWNSHIP - Michael Gilligbauer, 23, of 409 N. Rock St., Apartment 2, Shamokin, was charged by Coal Township police with contempt after allegedly violating a protection from abuse order in the 1800 block of Tioga Street on May 2.

Police said interviews determined Gilligbauer allegedly struck the victim. He was taken into custody by the sheriff's department for an active warrant.

Drug sale

SHAMOKIN - City police charged Arlinda Alves, 50, of 405 E. Sunbury St., Apartment 4-3, with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy as part of an investigation into a drug buy on Aug. 4.

Cpl. Bryan Primerano alleges Alves sold $60 worth of heroin to a confidential informant in a controlled drug buy within the city limits.

A preliminary hearing on the charges will be held before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shamokin, July 7.

Unauthorized use

STRONG - Mount Carmel Township Police charged Joseph A. Arrigo, 21, of 418 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, with unauthorized use of a vehicle after he allegedly used a vehicle at the Turkey Hill Minit Market, Strong, without the owners' permission March 17.

A summons was filed for Arrigo, who is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, Mount Carmel, June 24.

Crash

LYKENS - A 17-year-old girl escaped injury during a crash at 4:23 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East Market and South Main streets in Berrysburg.

Police, who did not identify the girl, said she stopped the 2008 Ford 500 she was driving at a stop sign and then proceeded forward into the pathway of a Chevrolet Impala driven by Jonathan D. Lehman, 28, of Lykens, who was also uninjured.

Police said the girl will be cited for failing to obey stop signs.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Keith Tamborelli charged Kyle Richard Pekera, 33, of 1207 Brunsbuck Court, Arnold, Md., with driving under the influence.

Tamborelli said he found Pekera asleep in a truck with its engine running alongside Wilburton Road at 4:14 a.m. March 15. Tamborelli said he smelled alcohol emanating from Pekera, who had his pants open and his hand on his genitals. Pekera also tried to give Tamborelli money for his drivers license and other documents, according to the criminal complaint.

Pekera failed a field sobriety test and a breath analysis test detected a blood alcohol level of .238, Tamborelli said.

Selling drugs

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano charged Wendy Ortiz, 39, of 508 W. Pine St., Shamokin, with three felony counts each of possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance and one felony count of criminal use of a communications facility after she allegedly sold prescription medications and heroin to an undercover police officer at 5:21 p.m. Feb. 20.

Primerano said an informant told police Ortiz posted on Facebook she wished to sell prescription medications. The informant arranged a purchase of Xanax and Adderall from Ortiz through Facebook, he said, and an undercover officer accompanied the informant.

The officer purchased 10 alprazolam (Xanax) and one amphetamine dextroamphetamine for $30 from Ortiz, said Primerano. The officer then asked Ortiz if she could acquire any heroin and she immediately responded "yes," Primerano said. The officer, informant and Ortiz went to another location where Ortiz acquired one packet of heroin and handed it to the undercover officer in exchange for $20.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL - Marie Elena Derr, 50, of 443 W. Sixth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by borough Patrolman Kevin Katch with driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol content of .16 percent or higher, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving after she allegedly backed into another vehicle on the 200 block of South Market Street and left the scene around 12:30 a.m. May 4.

Katch said a witness saw a maroon Isuzu back into a parked white Chevy Silverado then drive over to the gas pumps of the Turkey Hill at 130 E. Fifth St. Katch said the vehicle was registered to Derr, and when he arrived at the scene, he saw Derr exit the store. She displayed signs of intoxication, he said.

Derr told him she had felt a "bang" while driving backwards down the street and into the Dollar General parking lot, but when she got out and looked, she saw no damage to her vehicle. The Silverado had damage to the right rear tail light: The assembly was completely shattered and white paint had been transferred.

Derr failed a field sobriety test. A blood test revealed she had a blood alcohol content of .193 percent

DUI

STONINGTON - State Police Trooper David Boucher charged Gilberto Flores, 27, of 1134 W. Valley Ave., P.O. Box 129, Room No. 217, Paxinos, with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, one misdemeanor count of providing false identification and summary offenses of driving without a license, failing to stay in a lane, failing to observe stop signs, failing to use a turn signal and careless driving for an incident that occurred at 12:24 a.m. May 17 near the intersection of North Sixth Street and Route 61 in Shamokin.

Boucher said he saw a green 2001 Chevrolet Suburban traveling north on Route 61 that was weaving across the roadway and switching lanes without using a turn signal. When initially pulled over, Flores identified himself as Roger Alvarez and said he did not have a drivers license or any identification, Boucher said. Flores smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking eight beers.

A breath analysis test detected the presences of alcohol and a blood test confirmed Flores had a blood alcohol content of .149 percent, Boucher said.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Rose M. Dunkle, 34, of 311 W. Fig St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay for disorderly conduct relating to a disturbance inside and outside her residence at noon May 29.

Police said Dunkle screamed at and pushed other people.

Bangs on windows

MOUNT CARMEL - Heather A. Frank, 30, of 331 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay for disorderly conduct involving a disturbance outside her home at 2 p.m. May 29.

Police reported Frank was banging on vehicle windows and yelling.

Dog runs loose

MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman Justin Stelma cited David Tracey, 38, of 331 W. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, for allowing his pit bull to run loose near his residence at 3:30 p.m. May 18.

Scattering rubbish

MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman William Adamski cited Beth E. Morgan, 42, of 215 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, for scattering rubbish and disorderly conduct involving an incident at 2 p.m. May 21 at Sixth and Hickory streets.

Police said Morgan deposited garbage and other items from her vehicle onto the street.

Teens cited

MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman William Adamski cited a 13-year-old female from Mount Carmel and a 16-year-old Atlas male for disorderly conduct for causing a disturbance at 6:30 p.m. May 25 in the 100 block of South Oak Street.

Police said the teens were yelling and banging on the front windows at China Work Restaurant and also threw a water balloon into the restaurant.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Cody L. Allen, 21, of 46 N. Maple St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Patrolman Kevin Katch for harassment for kicking Miriam Allen during a dispute at their home at 7:30 p.m. June 3.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Danielle M. Townsend, 26, of 336 S. Locust St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay for disorderly conduct involving a disturbance at 7 p.m. June 5 in the 400 block of East Seventh Street.

Police said Townsend yelled and threatened others with a baseball bat.

MOUNT CARMEL - Lisa Dillow, 30, of 449 E. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay for harassment for striking Jason Dillow in the face at 10:30 p.m. June 4 in the area of Sixth and Orange streets.

MOUNT CARMEL - Taylor M. Hamaday, 18, of 1112 E. Mahanoy St., Mahanoy City, was cited by Police Chief Todd Owens for retail theft for removing $109.25 in merchandise from the Dollar General Store at 2:30 p.m. June 7.

Two cited

MOUNT CARMEL - Chastity M. Dewees, 39, and Roxanne L. Misner-Dewees, 39, both of 343 S. Oak St., Mount Carmel, were cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay for disorderly conduct for causing a disturbance inside and outside their residence at 12:30 a.m. June 7.

Domestic dispute

MOUNT CARMEL - Robert C. Thurner, 31, and Penny Mansfield, 35, both of 228 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, were cited by Patrolman Kevin Katch for harassment involving a dispute at their residence at midnight Wednesday.

Police said Mansfield allegedly struck Thurner in the head, while Thurner reportedly drug Mansfield around the residence.

Public drunkenness

MOUNT CARMEL - James E. Colahan Sr., 62, of 236 S. Oak St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Cpl. David Donkochik for public drunkenness involving an incident at Sixth and Oak streets at 10:30 p.m. June 5.

Police said Colahan was observed lying on the ground while intoxicated.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Preslyann Wilson, 18, of 287 Main St., Ashland, and a 17-year-old female from Ashland were cited by Cpl. David Donkochik for disorderly conduct for assaulting a 17-year-old female in the area of Sixth and Willow streets at 2:30 p.m. May 26.

One-vehicle crash

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Mackenzie C. Lutz, 23, of Mount Carmel, escaped injury Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident along Route 147, approximately one-half mile north of Toad Hollow Road.

State police at Stonington reported Lutz was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty south at 4:33 p.m. when her vehicle veered off the southbound shoulder. Police said Lutz attempted to regain control of the Jeep, which veered back onto the road, crossed the northbound lane, struck an embankment and overturned.

The Jeep was towed from the scene by Prodical Garage. Also assisting were fire and rescue personnel from Dalmatia.

Lutz was cited by Trooper Michael App for failure to drive in a single lane.

Scattering rubbish

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating an incident involving someone scattering rubbish at 1553 Market St. between 7 a.m. and 12:06 p.m. Friday.

Police said the property is owned by Robert Harold Hupp, 55.

Criminal trespass

TREVORTON - State police at Stonington are investigating a criminal trespass complaint at 1020 W. Market St. at 9:34 p.m. Thursday.

Theft suspects flee

MONROE TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove are searching for two black females who committed retail theft at Boscov's Department Store in the Susquehanna Valley Mall at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and then fled the store.

Police said the suspects, who are both five feet, seven inches tall with a medium build and long dark hair, are accused of stealing approximately $200 worth of girls clothing by stuffing it into their oversized handbags.

When one of the suspects was approached by a loss prevention officer, she ran out of the store. Both females then ran through the parking lot and across four lanes of traffic on Routes 11-15 in the direction of Walmart.

While running away, one of the suspects yelled to the other to get the car and pick her up.

The vehicle they allegedly used to flee the scene is an older model Oldsmobile with the first three letters on the registration being FWT, police said.

In addition to the theft suspects, the vehicle contained two other passengers, including a black female believed to be in her 50s and an approximate 10-year-old black girl.

Home break-in

ATLAS - Brian Beaver, 19, of 22 W. Eighth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police following a break-in at an Atlas home on May 25.

According to officer Brian Carnuccio, Beaver allegedly broke into the home of Charles Gasperetti, on West Girard Street, Atlas, to confront a 17-year-old female. At one point, Beaver took the female's phone and threw it off the roof of the house. He also spat in her face several times, police said.

He was arraigned Friday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, and charged with a felony count of criminal trespass and misdemeanor counts of stalking, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, and was cited for trespassing, harassment and disorderly conduct.

He was released on $20,000 unsecured bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 24.

Domestic assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Charges of simple assault and harassment were filed against Michael Gallie, 43, of 2139 Pulaski Ave., after an incident at his home at 3:22 p.m. Friday.

Coal Township Police say Gallie allegedly assaulted his wife, Stefani Gallie, 42, producing injuries that required treatment at a local emergency room.

Michael Gallie was arraigned before on-call magistrate John Gembic and released after posting $5,000 percentage bail.

Domestic assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Pedro Carrasquillo, 51, of 1649 Tioga St., was charged with simple assault and harassment after an incident at his home at 6:18 a.m. Saturday.

Coal Township Police say Carrasquillo allegedly assaulted his wife, Sheyla Roque, 42, producing injuries that required treatment at a local emergency room.

Gallie was arraigned before on-call magistrate John Gembic III and released him on his own recognizance.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Darrell Jackson, 43, of 669 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Nathan Rhodes after allegedly causing a disturbance and yelling at police at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the area of Lincoln and Liberty streets. The citations were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Incident at bar

MOUNT CARMEL - Derek C. Kranzel, 25, of 414 Main St., Aristes, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and harassment after an incident at Dorko's Bar, West Fourth Street, at 1 a.m. May 24.

Mount Carmel Borough Police patrolman Matthew Dillman alleges Kranzel confronted Kelsey Resendes at the bar, then dumped an open bottle of beer on her head before stealing her wallet and leaving.

Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled July 1.

DUI charges

RIVERSIDE - Michael A. Perry, 26, of 227 Magnolia Lane, Sunbury, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to give notice of an accident to police, reckless driving and careless driving in relation to a crash at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, near the borough.

Riverside police officer Jennifer Goss said police were called for a car into a tree, with the driver's side air bag deployed, but they found no one around the vehicle.

At 1 a.m., a truck pulled up to the scene with Perry, his wife and daughter inside. His wife told police she was driving, and that Perry was injured. When asked why he was injured and she was not, Perry told police he was driving.

Chemical testing showed Perry's blood-alcohol level was .227 percent.

Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 1.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - Darcay Swift, 18, of 109 W. Commerce St., was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness by Shamokin police patrolman Mark Costa after being found under the influence of alcohol at 1:51 a.m. Sunday in the area of Pine and Shamokin streets.

SHAMOKIN - Five defendants pleaded guilty Tuesday to different charges and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay fines and costs.

n Eli Long, 23, of 1187 Bear Valley Road, Coal Township, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for six months. An additional charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn.

Long was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Jason Adams in connection with an April 30 incident at Mulberry and Maple streets.

n Michael Leiby, 30, of 1333 W. Water St., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for one year. An additional charge of possession of "spice" was withdrawn.

Shamokin Patrolman Scott Weaver charged Leiby in connection with a Feb. 9 incident that occurred in the rear parking lot of Weis Markets.

n Georgina M. Dewitt, 32, of 616 E. Cameron St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for one year. An additional charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn.

Dewitt was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II in connection with a May 11 incident at her residence.

n Brett Michael Kline, 21, of Mahanoy City, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs and make $400 restitution to Shamokin Housing Authority. An additional charge of disorderly conduct was withdrawn.

Kline was charged by Siko in connection with a Jan. 16 disturbance at 46 Raspberry Hill.

Police said Kline caused approximately $400 damage to a lock on a door and fled the residence while claiming to be in possession of a handgun. Kline was taken into custody by police at McDonald's on Route 61, where he was found possessing a pocket knife and glass smoking pipe containing burnt residue. No handgun was discovered.

n Hilcias Lantigua, 37, of 17 S. Rock St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs and placed on probation for six months. An additional charge of causing a public nuisance was withdrawn.

Lantigua was charged by Weaver with allowing her two dogs to roam freely around her neighborhood without collars June 4.

COAL TOWNSHIP - The following citations were filed by Coal Township code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich:

- Miguel Gonzalez Jr., of 441 18th St., Brooklyn, N.Y., 11215, was cited June 9 for high grass and weeds at 1101 W. Spruce St.

- Charles Lehman, of 725 Chestnut St., Apt. 306, Sunbury, was cited June 10 for high grass and weeds at 1126 Bear Valley Road.

In both cases, a township ordinance for having grass and weeds over 6 inches high was violated, Petrovich said.

SHAMOKIN - Brian Petrovich, 37, of 34 N. Second St., was cited for public drunkenness by city police Patrolman Nathan Rhodes after being found lying next to a tree at Sixth and Arch streets at 12:26 a.m. Saturday, June 6.

COAL TOWNSHIP - Phyllis Lippay, of 1725 W. Holly St., reported to Coal Township Police someone took two hanging potted plants from her residence sometime during the night Friday. They are valued at $40.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - Gabrielle Poplaski, of 629 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was cited by Shamokin police Cpl. Bryan Primerano for underage drinking after allegedly admitting she had consumed alcohol at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at a West Franklin Street residence.

Burglary

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported someone used force to enter a foreclosed property along Route 61 in the township between Feb. 24 and May 8.

Steel pins stolen

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are searching for a thief who removed four heavy-duty steel pins from boat docks at Fantasy Island Campground along the Susquehanna River June 8.

Identity theft

EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported someone filed a fraudulent tax return using the Social Security numbers of Daniel and Karen Buranich, of Bates Road, between April 15 and April 22.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Christopher Kreski, 52, of 624 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Shane Mowery for disorderly conduct for screaming and cursing at neighbors in his block at 5:27 p.m. Sunday.

Ring found

COAL TOWNSHIP - A ring was found in the parking lot of the Coal Township Recycling Center and turned in to the Coal Township police Thursday. The owner of the ring can claim it at the police department. For more information, call 570-644-0333.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - Lucian Birisu, 23, of 5125 Bernville Road, Bernville, was cited by Cpl. Joshua Wynn for harassment for allegedly screaming in the face of Lynn Whicard, of 1726 W. Pine St., Coal Township, at 9:25 p.m. June 9 at Whicard's home.

Police said Birisu also shoved Whicard.

Inmate charged with theft

GORDON - Brian Lee Dietrick, 44, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, has been charged with stealing a 1994 red Buick Roadmaster from 504 Hobart St. Aug. 30 and crashing the vehicle on Brockton Mountain Road near Front Street.

State police at Frackville reported Dietrick stole the vehicle owned by Christine F. Willis, 67, and Shannon J. Willis, 35, of Girardville. After crashing it, police said Dietrick fled the scene and left the vehicle unattended.

Upon further investigation, police learned that Dietrick was wanted on multiple criminal warrants from several different law enforcement agencies. He was eventually found at SCI-Coal Township under a fictitious name.

Dietrick was arraigned on a felony of theft of a motor vehicle and several summary violations. He remains at SCI-Coal Township on other charges.

Three injured

PENN TOWNSHIP - Three Selinsgrove residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday night on Market Street at the entrance to CVS Pharmacy.

State police at Selinsgrove reported Dean A. Delawder, 49, of Selinsgrove, was driving a vehicle north on Market Street at 6:30 p.m. when he attempted to turn left into the parking lot at CVS Pharmacy, but pulled into the path of a 1986 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven south by Leroy E. Reigle, 61, of Selinsgrove.

Reigle, who was thrown from his cycle, suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Reigle was listed in serious condition Thursday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Delawder suffered a moderate injury. One of his passengers, Madeline Delawder, 44, of Selinsgrove, suffered a minor injury. Another passenger, Charles Delawder, 53, of Selinsgrove, escaped injury.

An investigation is continuing.

Cemetery damaged

LYKENS - Warren Charles Weaver Jr., 18, of 384 N. Crossroads Road, Lykens, has been charged with causing $4,200 damage to Lykens Cemetery on South Second Street Jan. 21.

Police said Weaver drove through a section of the cemetery with his sport utility vehicle, toppling over grave markers and memorials.

Weaver was charged by state police at Lykens with misdemeanors of institutional vandalism and criminal mischief.

Missing teen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Mario Antonio Tokar-Moore, 15, of 1256 Pulaski Ave., has been reported missing from his home.

The teen, who was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, was wearing a red and black T-shirt. He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair.

Drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Matthew Allen, 36, of 45 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Shane Mowery for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct relating to a fight in the first block of South Franklin Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said Allen, who pounded and kicked the front door at 6 S. Franklin St., was wanted on an arrest warrant and incarcerated.

Couple charged

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Raymond Siko II has charged Belinda Sue Smith, 22, and Steven Wayne Schlief Jr., 21, both of 709 Penn St., Shamokin, with simple assault and harassment relating to a disturbance at their home at 12:45 p.m. June 11.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Smith is accused of hitting Schlief on his arms and face and biting him on his left arm, causing injury. Schlief is accused of striking Smith in the face and arms, causing injury. Police said Smith also suffered a laceration on her foot from items broken in the house during the fight.

Drug charge

SHAMOKIN - Jonathan Allan Gregory, 29, of 869 W. Spruce St., Coal Township, and Michael Leiby, 30, of 1333 W. Water St., Coal Township, were charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Leiby was found in possession of a chrome smoking pipe with burnt residue commonly used to inhale "spice." Gregory was found in possession of a black metal smoking pipe with burnt residue commonly used to inhale "spice" and an empty packet of "spice."

Driving under suspension

SHAMOKIN - Rodger Raymond Facer Jr., 27, of 103 S. Rock St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a May 20 incident in the Weis Markets auxiliary parking lot at Sixth and Walnut streets.

Police said a backpack containing copper scratch pads, shoestrings, a homemade pipe with residue that smelled of marijuana and two pink plastic baggies commonly used to package narcotics was found on the floor of Facer's vehicle.

Stalking

TREVORTON - Kyle Joseph Mirolli, 33, of 894 Trevorton Road, Shamokin, has been charged by Zerbe Township Officer Michael Kreischer with two counts each of stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct involving incidents that occurred between 4:15 and 4:38 p.m. June 12 on Market Street and other locations in Trevorton.

Police reported Mirolli is accused of following Nicholas Strohecker and a 16-year-old male, who were riding in a truck, around the village and threatening to kill them and beat them up. At one point, police said Mirolli allegedly punched the rear driver's side window on Strohecker's truck as Strohecker started to drive away.

Police said Strohecker and the teen then rode to the Zerbe Township recreation park on Fifth Street and called 911 to report the threats.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Coal Township police are investigating a hit and run during which a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze parked in the 1200 block of W. Arch St. was damaged at 4:42 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the Cruze was struck by a vehicle traveling east. A red sedan driven by a female was seen leaving the area at the time of the call.

Crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police said a 1998 Saturn driven by Thomas Reed, 42, of 918 W. Spruce St., Coal Township, rear-ended a 2012 Toyota driven by Robert Rowe, 50, of 1049 W. Willow St., Coal Township, when Rowe was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Hospital Road and Route 61 shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday.

No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Gerald Clements, 1101 E. Race St., Coal Township, reported to Coal Township police that one or more people threw a can of paint into his swimming pool and spray painted the back door of his house and rear windows between 4:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday.

Clements estimated the damage at $3,000.

Littering

COAL TOWNSHIP - Dennis Chandler, 48, of 2 N. Vine St., Shamokin, was charged by Coal Township police with littering.

Police said a witness saw Chandler deposit garbage and litter in the area of the roundhouse in Big Mountain at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Curfew violations

SHAMOKIN - A 12 year old and a 13 year old were cited with curfew violations after police said they were discovered on the corner of Market and Chestnut streets at 1:47 a.m. Monday.

The two juvenile boys were released into the custody of their mothers.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - Matthew Kehler, 16, of 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, was cited by police with underage drinking and public intoxication.

Police said they found Kehler staggering and having a difficult time with balance at 6:16 a.m. Saturday on the 500 block of North Franklin Street.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - James O. Hill, 57, of 833 Center St., Coal Township, was cited with public drunkenness.

Police said they found Hill sleeping on a bench outside of the lobby of Lincoln Towers, alarming residents, at 5:37 a.m. Saturday. Hill was intoxicated, they said.

Hit, run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Alida Lukoskie, of 406 Schwartz Hill Road, Trevorton, reported that the passenger side of her 2008 Jeep Liberty was struck by a hit-and-run driver between 9:20 and 10:05 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of Annabelle's Restaurant. The quarter-panel, rear door and rear tire were damaged. Anyone with information is asked to call Coal Township police at 570-644-0333.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - John Dorkoski, 58, of 1013 W. Pine St., was charged with criminal mischief after allegedly knocking over and then driving over a wooden door frame, owned by Kip Dorkoski, in the 900 block of Gowen Street, at 2:05 p.m. June 20.

Curfew violation

SHAMOKIN - A 16-year-old Berwick male and an 11-year-old Shamokin male were cited by Shamokin City Police Chief Darwin Tobias III for violating the city's curfew ordinance. The two youths were found in the area of Shamokin and Race Street at 2:13 a.m. Tuesday.

Guilty plea

SHAMOKIN - Shixela Rodriguez, 23, of 715 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to summary citations for disorderly conduct and harassment during a preliminary hearing Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Rodriguez was charged by City police Cpl. Bryan Primerano after an incident at 717 E. Dewart St. June 18 when she threatened to stab two tenants in a home next door in the presence of police.

Gembic sentenced Rodriguez to pay a total of $400 in fines and court costs. Misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct were withdrawn.

Unauthorized use of vehicle

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Police chief Brian Hollenbush charged Patrick Pitts, 18, of unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal conspiracy, failure to give immediate notice of an accident to the police department, following the investigation into a June 4 crash on Snake Road.

According to court documents, Pitts was the passenger in a vehicle that another individual took on a joy ride, crashing it on Snake road at 7:10 a.m. June 4. The vehicle was registered to Mark Montgomery, of Gilberton, who was not able to provide a damage estimate at the time the charges were filed.

The case was filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 29.

DUI

RIVERSIDE - Richard L. Hendricks, 67, of 1 E. Sunbury Road, Danville, was charged with driving under the influence and related traffic offense after a traffic stop on Sunbury Road at 8:59 p.m. June 10.

Riverside Police Officer Timothy Kiefaber reported in court documents that Hendricks was stopped for a headlight out and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. After Hendricks said he suffered from leg and joint pain that made some of the field sobriety tests impossible, police tested his gaze, which he failed. A preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level to be .16 percent at the time of the test, but Hendricks refused to take a chemical blood test.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 29.

Retail theft

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Keifer M. Zsido, 23, of 400 Spruce St., Kulpmont, was charged with retail theft and public drunkenness by Mount Carmel Township Police Officer Kelly Campbell. According to court documents, Zsido allegedly took a paperback novel from the CVS Pharmacy, Locust Gap Highway, Mount Carmel, on Nov. 25, and was under the influence at the time of the theft.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing set for July 29.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Derek A. Weaver, 18, of 406 E. Dewart St., was cited for disorderly conduct after he allegedly got into a physical altercation and threatened Karina Neidig at her residence on Harrison Street at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday. The citation was filed by Shamokin Police Patrolman Raymond Siko II.

Harrassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - James Sweeney, 51, of 9964 Ferndale St., Philadelphia, is accused of leaving multiple harassing messages on the answering machine of Randy Slodysko, 58, of Coal Township. Sweeney is charged by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with harassment.

Simple assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Agnes Coleman, 50, of 147 Coal Run Road, Coal Township, is charged by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with simple assault and harassment. She's accused of stabbing someone with a butter knife inside her home. The knife did not penetrate the alleged victim's skin but did cause bruising, police said.

Speed enforcement

BLOOMSBURG - State police in Bloomsburg announced Wednesday it conducted State Police Aerial Reconnaissance and Enforcement (S.P.A.R.E.) along Interstate 80 in Columbia County from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The operation uses a state police aircraft and trained aerial observers to identify speeding violations. The S.P.A.R.E. site is surveyed and certified by PennDOT and has a series of lines painted on the roadway .3 miles apart. Personnel in the aircraft use a certified stop watch to clock the amount of time it takes for a vehicle to travel between the lines.

During Wednesday's enforcement, 11 vehicles were stopped for speeding. The speeds of these vehicles ranged from 80 to 95 miles per hour, police said.

Police said the program will be used again in the future.

Curfew violation

WATSONTOWN - Watsontown Police cited two 15-year-old juveniles, one from Watsontown and one from Damatia, with being out past curfew Wednesday at 2:55 a.m.

Curfew in Watsontown covers everyone under 18 years of age and is from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on a weeknight and midnight to 6 a.m. on a weekend night.

Stemming from this incident, Watsontown Police recovered cigarettes on one of the 15-year-old juveniles. Through further investigation, Police found that the cigarettes were furnished to the juvenile by David S. Gotshall, 51, of 38 Pennsylvania Ave., Watsontown. Gotshall admitted to furnishing the cigarettes to the juvenile when interviewed.

Drug possession

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police charged David Demarco, 25, of Mount Carmel, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after the investigation into an incident at 1 a.m. June 20 in the McDonald's restaurant parking lot.

According to Coal Township Police Patrolman Matthew Hashuga, Demarco was in possession of a small amount of synthetic marijuana and a small metal pipe.

Stolen vehicle recovered

MILTON - State police in Milton said they recovered a blue Geo Tracker belonging to Kathy Derck, of Paxinos, in the Sun Ortho parking lot, Buffalo Township, around 10 p.m. June 18.

The vehicle had been taken from Coal Township by an unknown person. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - Victoria Steckler, 47, of 2371 Stetler Drive, will be cited for harassment by Coal Township Police after she allegedly got involved in an altercation with an ex-boyfriend at 8:15 p.m. Monday.

Police report David Reed, 47, of North Rock Street, was walking his dog on Shamokin Area Middle/High School property with his girlfriend when the two were approached by Steckler, who was in her vehicle. Steckler allegedly tried to get the dog away from Reed, and slapped, harassed and cursed at him.

Teen cited in crash

BERRYSBURG - A Dalmatia teen was cited for a stop sign violation following a crash at the intersection of North Main Street and Route 225 at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday.

State police at Lykens report a 2001 Ford Focus driven by the teen was traveling east on North Second Street while a 2012 Freightliner Business Class M2 truck, driven by Brian A. Boyer, 48, of North Huntingdon, was traveling south on Route 225.

Police said the teen stopped the car at the stop sign, but continued into the intersection as Boyer passed through. The Focus struck the right rear tire of the Freightliner. After the impact, Boyer pulled to the berm of the road, while the teen left the scene, traveling north on Route 225. Witnesses reported the license plate to police.

No one was injured in the crash, and the citation was filed with Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum, of Elizabethville.

Two-vehicle crash

TREVORTON - A Sunbury woman was cited for traffic violations after a two-vehicle crash at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Sixth and Shamokin streets.

Zerbe Township Police Chief Robert John said he was approached by a 1997 GMC Yukon, driven by Ronald Schrader, 48, of 137 Dan's Way, Coal Township. Schrader said a person did a u-turn in front of his vehicle and struck his vehicle.

After both vehicles were stopped, the other driver, Lelo L. Shingara, 48, of 311 Shingara Lane, Sunbury, said another person was attempting to start the vehicle but couldn't do it. Shingara said she got behind the wheel and while other individuals were pushing it, she popped the clutch and got it started. She said she was in the process of turning around to go back up the street when she pulled out, sideswiping Schrader's vehicle.

Shingara was cited for failure to observe stop signs and yield signs and driving with a suspended license.

Scattering rubbish

COAL TOWNSHIP - Richard Martin, 39, of 140 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, and Frank Nahodil, 40, of 35 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, were cited by Coal Township Police for scattering rubbish after allegedly dumping a couch in an area known as "the Shuffleboard" between June 4 and 5.

Disorderly conduct

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Police chief Robert John cited Norman E. Purcell, 70, of 6147 Route 225, Shamokin, for disorderly conduct after he allegedy got into verbal argument with Mitchel Raker, of Pleasant View Street, Zerbe Township, at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Raker told police Purcell yelled and cursed at Raker in public, accusing him of having the Zerbe Township Street Department cut brush away near Purcell's property.

Bikes found

LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington said a property owner on East Ridge Road, Sunbury, reported he found two mountain bikes over an embankment at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information can contact police at 570-286-5601.

Code violations

COAL TOWNSHIP - Code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich cited the following individuals for violating the township's ordinance on brush, grass and weeds:

- Miguel Gonzalez Jr., of 441 18th St., Brooklyn, N.Y., was cited June 19 for having high brush, grass and weeds in the rear yard and sidewalk of a property at 1704-1706 Mohawk St.

- Ray M. Hancock Jr., of 1047 W. Mulberry St., was cited June 24 for having high brush, grass and weeds in the rear and side yards of a property at 1045-1047 W. Mulberry St.

Barking dogs

SHAMOKIN - Michelle McCrary, 30, of 101 S. Franklin St., was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for allegedly allowing her dog to bark continuously early Friday. The incident was reported about 2:30 a.m.

Theft

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Angela R. Musser, 40, of Sunbury, is accused of taking jewelry from the home of Frank J. Galasso, 62, of Sunbury, between June 15 and June 18 and attempting to pawn the jewlery in Selinsgrove, according to state police at Stonington.

Theft

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported an unknown person used information from a debit card issued to Troy Zeigler, of Sunbury, and used it to withdraw money from an ATM near Philadelphia on three different occasions between 7:10 p.m. June 22 and 6:46 a.m. June 24.

Theft

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported an unknown person removed a Stihl concrete saw from a garage owned by Scott Adams, of Sunbury, between 6 a.m. June 4 and noon June 11. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Stonington at 570-286-5601.

Male in custody

MOUNT CARMEL - An unidentified male was taken into custody shortly before 8 p.m. Friday when police stopped his vehicle following reports of an erratic driver.

Borough officers handcuffed the male and placed him in a squad car as they searched the Chevy Tahoe he was driving. Several items were confiscated, including suspected narcotics. Additional information is pending result of blood testing. The vehicle was towed.

The traffic stop was initiated on Chestnut Street, between Fourth and Fifth streets. At the scene were Lt. Christopher Buhay, Cpl. David J. Donkochik and Patrolman Justin Stelma, along with Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Daniel Politza.

Additional charges

SHAMOKIN - Markist Kareem Moore, 38, of 31 N. Marshall St., who was arrested in a drug bust Thursday, is also charged with felony delivery of "spice," a synthetic drug, and misdemeanor counts of possession of spice and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a controlled buy conducted Monday by Shamokin police where Moore allegedly sold a $10 packet of spice to a confidential informant. Charges were filed by Cpl. Bryan Primerano.

Teen driver charged

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Shamokin teen was charged with various vehicle offenses following an investigation into a June 21 crash on Tioga Street near Route 901, near an area known as "The Rock Cut."

According to Coal Township Police, Wesley Tadd McKinney, 18, of 1010 E. Race St., Shamokin, was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima east on Route 901 at a high rate of speed. When he attempted to turn onto Tioga Street, the rear end of the vehicle slid, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

McKinney then accelerated, cauing the vehicle to cross over the low part of a guard rail and to into an area north of Tioga Street covered with brush and trees. The driver and his four passengers were not injured in the crash, but police had to tow the vehicle because it was not insured. The investigation showed McKinney did not have a driver's license.

Police charged McKinney with driving without a license, driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed, careless driving and driving an uninsured vehicle. In addition, police cited the Altima's owner, Patricia Persing, 38, of 1010 E. Race St., Shamokin, for allowing McKinney to operate the vehicle with the knowledge that there was no insurance.

Assisting police at the scene of the crash were members of the Coal Township Fire Department, Coal Township Rescue Squad, Coal Township Fire Police and AREA Services personnel.

Drug paraphernalia

RANSHAW - Joseph Staskiel, 22, of 824 Spruce St., Kulpmont, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being found with syringes, pills and a spoon after he passed out on the sidewalk at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Main Street. Staskiel was transported to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for treatment.
