PFA violation

SHAMOKIN - Nathan Olah, 25, of 406 E. Sixth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with violating a protection from abuse order.

According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Olah is accused of sending harassing and vulgar text messages to Sarah Britton, of Shamokin, which violated a PFA order issued Jan. 9. The order expires Jan. 9, 2018.

Drug charge

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman William Zalinski charged Matthew Derk, 19, of 322 E. Sunbury St., Apt. 6, Shamokin, with possessing two Percocet pills not prescribed to him at his apartment June 22.

Theft, drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Jesika McCann, 23, of 1008 N. Pearl St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman William Miner with theft and forgery for allegedly stealing checks belonging to Josephine Markle and forging and cashing five of the checks totaling $190 Oct. 1.

McCann also was charged by Patrolman William Zalinski with possessing 10 Ativan pills not prescribed to her at 322 E. Sunbury St., Apt. 6, Shamokin, June 22.

Charges dismissed

SHAMOKIN - Charges of simple assault and harassment filed by Coal Township Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky against Agnes Coleman, 50, of 141 Coal Run Road, Coal Run, were dismissed Tuesday when her husband and alleged victim, James Coleman, refused to testify at a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.

Police reported Agnes Coleman was charged with allegedly stabbing her husband in the back with a butter knife at their home June 24. Police said James Coleman was injured and the blade of the knife was bent.

Drug charges

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 26-year-old Shamokin man taken by ambulance to an area hospital after being discovered in an alleged highly intoxicated state June 18 in a wooded area between Mulberry and State streets has been charged with drug offenses.

Curtis Groom, of 1006 N. Orange St., is charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with possessing a small amount of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia including a clear plastic bag and multi-colored glass smoking pipe.

Groom was found lying against a log, dozing in and out of consciousness, as Adams and Patrolman David Sage repeatedly asked for his name, his hometown, and what drugs he may have ingested. A neighbor said Groom had been seen in the woods the past few days.

Drug offenses

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Malcolm Carnaghan, 49, of 1141 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, with possessing a small amount of marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct involving a June 21 disturbance at 328 S. Pearl St.

Police said Carnaghan, who allegedly pounded on the door at the residence demanding entry, was found in possession of a plastic bag containing marijuana.

Hit and run

SHAMOKIN - Gregory James Adams, 46, of 707 W. Chestnut St., Apt. B, Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Shane Mowery with hit and run, failure to give information and render aid at an accident and reckless driving relating to a May 28 accident at 224-226 S. Diamond St.

Police reported Adams drove a 1996 Chrysler into both structures before fleeing the scene. Police said the residents of 224 S. Diamond St. were home at the time of the crash.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Shane Mowery has charged Jeffery E. Barber Jr., 21, of 77 Raspberry Hill, with possession of drug paraphernalia involving a June 16 incident at Shamokin Police Station.

Police said Barber was found with a silver, metal smoking pipe with burnt residue.

Simple assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Detective Jeff Brennan has charged Brian Poplaskie, 47, of 3072 Upper Road, Shamokin, with simple assault and harassment relating to a June 12 disturbance at 1564 Pulaski Ave.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Poplaskie is accused of kicking 63-year-old Faith Smink, in the groin, causing injury. Police said the assault occurred outside Smink's home.

Inmate charged

COAL TOWNSHIP - Dustin Michael Mollany, 23, a Northumberland County Prison inmate being housed at SCI-Coal Township, has been charged by Northumberland County Detective Degg Stark with institutional vandalism.

Police said Mollany is accused of causing $521.19 damage to a sprinkler head system in his cell June 15.

Beverage drop, car crash

BLYTHE TOWNSHIP - A 9-year-old Mount Carmel girl suffered minor injuries in a crash on a section of Route 61 known as "The Grade" outside of Frackville Tuesday afternoon.

State police at Frackville said a 1997 Ford Escort, driven by Tammy M. Brown, 30, of Mount Carmel, was traveling north at approximately 2:06 p.m. when she dropped her beverage, which rolled behind the brake pedal. She lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail.

The child, who was a passenger in the car, was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center East for treatment while Brown and two other passengers, a 6-year-old female and a 3-year-old male, were not injured. Assisting police at the scene were members of the St. Clair Fire Department.

Guilty plea

SHAMOKIN - Christine Ann Gebhard, 36, of 1154 Poplar St., Kulpmont, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief Tuesday and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $200 fine plus costs.

Charges of theft of leased property and receiving stolen property were withdrawn.

Gebhard was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with causing approximately $500 damage to a cell phone and iPad she leased from Rent-A-Center, Route 61, between Nov. 28 and March 14.

Two escape injury

CASS TOWNSHIP - Brian M. Drust, 35, of Coal Township, and Patricia M. Tokarchek, 61, of Pottsville, escaped injury in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Valley Road in this Schuylkill County township.

State police at Frackville reported Tokarchek was pulling her 2013 Dodge Dart out of a private driveway onto Valley Road (Route 4002) at 2:45 p.m. when she failed to yield the right-of-way and pulled into the eastbound lane of Valley Road in front of a 2000 Subaru Outback operated by Drust. Police said Drust was unable stop in time to avoid a collision.

After impact, Tokarchek's vehicle spun clockwise approximately 40 degrees before coming to rest partially on the south shoulder and in the eastbound lane. The Dart was towed. Drust was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Tokarchek was cited for a traffic violation.

Cables cut

ELDRED TOWNSHIP - State police at Schuylkill Haven reported someone entered the PPL substation grounds along Taylorsville Road between May 26 and June 9 and cut approximately 22 copper ground cables from the perimeter fence before fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information is urged to call state police and reference incident number L07-1369608.

Bath salts charge

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Daniel Politza has charged George P. Hepler, 28, of 350 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, with possessing bath salts and possessing drug paraphernalia relating to an April 13 incident along Merriam Highway (Route 2023), where Hepler was found walking.

Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Chad Michael Neiman, 29, of 101 W. Coal St., Trevorton, was charged by Patrolman David Tomtishen with theft, receiving stolen property, driving under suspension and driving without a license involving a June 2 incident at 147 E. Saylor St., Atlas.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Neiman is accused of stealing an Xbox One and PS4 belonging to the sons of Stephanie Rodriguez.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Two counts of disorderly conduct and charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, a stop sign violation and driving under suspension were filed by Cpl. David Donkochik against Kevin Joe Stouffer, 26, of 244 S. Oak St., Apt. 2, Mount Carmel.

Police reported Stouffer used obscenities and became combative with Donkochik after the officer stopped him for failing to stop for a stop sign at Fifth and Oak streets June 15. Donkochik, who was assisted at the scene by two male motorists in subduing Stouffer, had to use substantial force in taking the defendant into custody and almost needed to use a Taser on him.

Receiving stolen property

MOUNT CARMEL - Brian Steven Nicola, 27, of 302 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with receiving stolen property for allegedly operating a rented vehicle that he knew was overdue to be returned to the rental company.

Police said the incident occurred June 23.

Drug possession

KULPMONT - Jeremiah D. Jones, 28, of Harrisburg, who is an inmate at Perry County Prison, was charged by Trooper Jared Mowen of state police at Stonington with possessing a controlled substance and false identification to law enforcement authorities relating to a June 15 traffic stop at Scott and Eighth streets.

Police said Jones, who initially provided a false name, was found with marijuana and a black plastic bag containing a digital galaxy scale.

Guilty plea

MOUNT CARMEL - Zachary Robert Tocyloski, 19, of 136 S. Center St., Natalie, pleaded guilty June 24 to disorderly conduct and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to pay a $100 fine plus costs.

Additional charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage drinking were withdrawn.

Tocyloski was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman David Tomtishen in connection with a May 9 traffic stop on Route 61 in Atlas.

Retail theft

KULPMONT - Christine L. Jeffery, 28, of 554 Chestnut St., Apt. 1, Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman Patrick McAndrew with retail theft.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Jeffery is accused of stealing $30.27 worth of merchandise from Turkey Hill Minit Market on Chestnut Street.

Cameron Bridge crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on the Cameron Bridge.

Coal Township police said Irvin P. Reiner, of 1050 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, was stopped on the bridge in the Second Street area for a red traffic signal shortly after 1 p.m. in a 2009 Ford bus owned by Northumberland County when a 1999 Honda Accord driven by Miranda E. Orso, of 910 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, struck the rear of the bus after traveling off Route 61.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

Orso was cited by police for following a vehicle too closely.

Furnishes alcohol

COAL TOWNSHIP - Charles Amos Troup III, 21, of 536 N. Second St., Shamokin, was charged by Cpl. Joshua Wynn with selling or furnishing alcohol to minors.

Police said Troup allegedly furnished beer to his 18-year-old girlfriend, Zoey Parker, who consumed the alcohol. Parker was cited for underage drinking, police said.

Police reported the incident occurred early Saturday at Parker's apartment at 1120 W. Arch St.

Forgery

MOUNT CARMEL - Damion C. Emburg, 19, of 40 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by borough police with multiple counts of forgery and theft.

Emburg is charged by Lt. Christopher Buhay with two felony counts of forgery and felonies of access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing checks from his mother, Kate Emburg, also of 40 S. Vine St., on May 18, forging them and cashing them for a total of $1,928.

He also is charged by Chief of Police Todd Owens with felonies of forgery, theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing and forging a $300 check belonging to Patricia McDowell, of 48 S. Vine St. Police said the offenses were committed between April 28 and June 4.

Emburg was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and committed to Montour County Prison in a lieu of $30,000 cash bail on all charges.

He is scheduled to face a preliminary hearing July 8 before Jones.

Altered registration

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Kierra J. Martin, 20, of 219 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Daniel Politza with altering a vehicle registration, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance involving a May 6 traffic stop along Route 901, east of Excelsior.

Three sentenced in Northumberland County court

SUNBURY - Three defendants were sentenced in Northumberland County Court Monday on various charges.

- Judge Charles Saylor placed Stanley M. Stanchick, 40, of Coal Township, on six months probation and ordered him to pay a $300 fine plus costs for driving under the influence of alcohol. Stanchick also must undergo counseling and complete DUI-related schooling. He is prohibited from attending bars.

Since it was Stanchick's first DUI offense and the incident didn't involve an accident, the defendant will not have his driver's license suspended.

He was charged by Shamokin police in connection with a March 18 incident at Race and Shamokin streets.

Additional charges of careless driving and squealing tires were not prosecuted.

- Maria Bridy, 29, of Mount Carmel, was ordered by President Judge William H. Wiest to complete 23 months intermediate punishment with the first six months on house arrest for acquiring a controlled substance (Adderall) by forgery. She also must pay a $200 fine plus costs.

The charge was filed by Mount Carmel police in connection with a Sept. 2 incident.

An additional charge of forgery was not prosecuted.

- Laborah Evans, 27, of Philadelphia, was sentenced by Saylor to 69 days previously served in prison and fined $50 for possessing with intent to deliver marijuana relating to a March 21 incident at SCI-Coal Township.

Evans, who was granted immediate parole, has been incarcerated at SCI-Muncy since her arrest. An additional charge of contraband was not prosecuted.

She was charged by state police at Stonington with twice entering a rest room and placing balloons stuffed with contraband inside her mouth before kissing Michael Dingle, 25, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township.

Nine balloons were passed in all. They were discovered after Dingle passed them while defecating. Seven balloons were each filled with one gram of marijuana, police said. Thumb drives uploaded with pictures, porn videos and music were in the other two balloons.

Dingle was sentenced on similar charges last week by Wiest to two to four years in state prison and fined $500. The sentence is concurrent to the 26 to 52 years he's currently serving for crimes in Philadelphia County.

COAL TOWNSHIP - Austin Barry, 19, and Jennifer Hancock, 18, both of 130 E. Dewart St., Apt. 3, Shamokin, will be cited for allegedly dumping a truck load of garbage into the woods near Big Mountain Road Thursday.

High grass

COAL TOWNSHIP - Helen Kolody, Esther Kolody, Pauline Kolody and Russell Kolody were all issued citations June 30 by code officer Chris Petrovich for high grass at a slew of township properties: 406 Cypress St., 1550 W. Lynn St., 1445-1451 W. Chestnut St., 5-7 N. Bay St. The Kolodys' home address is listed by Petrovich as 603 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin. All properties are involved in the township's continuing attempt through county court to gain conservatorship and demolish the blighted structures.

Crash

PAXINOS - No injuries were reported after a Northumberland woman crashed into a utility pole along Route 61 in Shamokin Township on Saturday.

Kayla C. Fisher, 21, was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry north about 5:10 a.m. when the vehicle veered off the west side of the road, sheared the pole, and continued into a residential yard, according to Trooper Nathan Messner, state police at Stonington.

Fisher, who was wearing a seatbelt, was cited for violating the vehicle code, driving vehicle at a safe speed. A 1-year-old male passenger was secured in a child seat.

Fleeing charge

SUNBURY - Walter E. Hyde, 73, of Shamokin, was charged with fleeing or eluding police and disorderly conduct hazardous condition along with seven summary traffic violations following a traffic stop June 8 near Walnut and 10th streets, according to Trooper Nicholas L. Bressler, state police at Stonington.

Stolen hearing aids

AUGUSTAVILLE - Police seek suspects in the theft of two hearing aids from the home of a 90-year-old man in Rockefeller Township. The theft reportedly occurred between June 1 and 10. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-286-5601.

Truck keyed

HAMILTON - Someone reportedly used keys to scratch a Ford F-150 June 12 near 226 State St. (Route 61), Upper Augusta Township. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-286-5601.

Boxes dumped

HERNDON - State police are investigating the illegal dumping of empty meat boxes into a Dumpster at Schiano's Ice Cream, Route 147, Jackson Township. Police say the suspect vehicle is a black Chevrolet S-10 with a white freezer box in the truck bed. The offense occurred between 12:30 and 1 p.m. July 1. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-286-5601.

Liquor law violations

WILLIAMSPORT - An area fire company was cited Thursday by the Pennsylvania State Police's Bureau for Liquor Enforcement.

The No. 1 Rescue Fire Engine and Hose Company, Lincoln and Liberty streets, Shamokin, was cited for possession and operation of gambling devices or paraphernalia, or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises. The offenses occurred on Feb. 12 and 13.

The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge, who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge and can mandate training for the licensee.

Packages stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Susan Clements, 53, of 1101 E. Race St., reported to Coal Township Police sometime between June 20 and 27, someone stole two packages that were delivered to her residence.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact Coal Township Police at 570-644-0333.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Krista Merlino, 18, and Joel Santiago, 18, both of 1008 W. Lynn St., Coal Township, were cited for disorderly conduct after an incident at 4:20 a.m. Saturday at 236 S. Shamokin St.

Shamokin City Police Patrolman Nathan Rhodes reported the two were involved in an altercation with Merlino yelling into the street after Santiago allegedly threw a chair through a window at that location.

Failure to register

SUNBURY - Robert L. Shaffer, 45, with a last known address of 424 Race St., Sunbury, was charged with failure to comply with registration requirements by Sunbury City Police after an investigation that began on June 1.

According to court documents filed by Sunbury Police Sgt. Christopher Blase, city police received a request to realease a community notification for Shaffer, a Megan's Law violator. Chief Bradley Hare proceeded to the address given by Shaffer, the occupants stated they knew Shaffer, but he did not live there. They also stated they did not give Shaffer permission to use their address, and that he was currently homeless.

Shaffer was located and arraigned Friday before on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin, and placed in prison on $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing on the charge was scheduled for Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum, of Sunbury.

Skateboard citation

SHAMOKIN - A 14-year-old Shamokin male was cited by Shamokin City Police Patrolman First Class Scott Weaver for violating a city ordinance after being found trespassing and skateboarding in the area of the bandstand at Claude Kehler Park, West Arch Street, at 2:05 p.m. Monday.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Victoria Steckler, 47, of 2371 Stetler Drive, Coal Township, was cited for harassment by Shamokin City Police after allegedly texting and calling her ex-boyfriend, David Reed, numerous times at 11 a.m. Monday after being told by Reed and the police to stop doing so. The citation was filed by Patrolman Scott Weaver and filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - William Miller, 62, of 433 W. Pine St., was cited for disorderly conduct by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Shane Mowery after allegedly urinating in public in the area of Ninth and Independence streets at 1:40 p.m. on June 26.

Graffiti warning

CENTRALIA - In light of recent news coverage on the abandoned section of Route 61 in Centralia, sometimes referred to as "The Graffiti Highway," the Pennsylvania State Police reminds the public that spray painting the highway is a violation of the law.

Anyone caught in the act of spray painting the highway will face criminal mischief charges.

Brewery Curve accident

THARPTOWN - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Sunday night on Route 61 at the Brewery Curve.

Coal Township police said Barbara Bernotas, 61, of Coal Township, was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion north at 6:37 p.m. when a 2015 Nissan Altima operated by Samantha Kripaitis, 45, of Woodbridge, N.J., moved from the right lane into the passing lane and struck the passenger side of Bernotas' car.

Both vehicles, which sustained moderate to major damage, came to rest in the center of the highway.

Both drivers, two adult female passengers and a 3-year-old child in Kripaitis' auto escaped injury.

Two-vehicle crash

LOCUST TOWNSHIP - An early-morning crash Wednesday in front of Southern Columbia Area High School resulted in no injuries.

Locust Township Patrolman Jason Sudol said shortly before 5:45 a.m. Ryan Gajkowski, 38, of Rhodestown Road, Catawissa, was making a left turn from Bethel Road onto Southern Drive when he pulled into the path of a car traveling north on Southern Drive driven by Stacey Diggan, of Bear Hollow Road, Elysburg.

Upon impact, Diggan's 2005 Chrysler Sebring left the road and Gajkowski's 2010 Ford Fusion spun around. Citations are pending an investigation.

Police were assisted by Catawissa Hose Company No. 1.

Defiant trespass

COAL TOWNSHIP - Charles Troup III, 21, of 536 N. Second St., Shamokin, was charged by Coal Township police with defiant trespass relating to an incident at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at 1120-B W. Arch St.

Police said Troup is accused of entering the residence of Zoey Parker, 18, and staying there after being told by Parker not to come to her home.

Multiple offenses

KELLY TOWNSHIP - Johannes Stahl, 19, of Allenwood, and a 21-year-old male from Lewisburg who has not yet been identified by police are facing multiple charges in connection with the theft of a vehicle, arson and vandalism.

State police at Milton said the suspects are accused of stealing a vehicle, lighting a piece of paper on fire and placing it in another unoccupied vehicle, entering several vehicles and removing various items. They also allegedly damaged several pools by slashing the liners.

Police said the incidents occurred between 1 and 5 a.m. Tuesday on Walnut Street, Yarger Road, Harold Pawling Lane, Willow Brook Boulevard, JPM Road and William Penn Drive in this Union County township.

Stahl was arraigned on charges and committed to Union County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

An investigation is continuing.

Defendant sentenced

SUNBURY - Jonathan Shacklton, 30, of Shamokin, was sentenced Tuesday by Northumberland County Judge Charles Saylor for driving under the influence of alcohol to five years intermediate punishment with the first 90 days on house arrest.

Shacklton must pay a $1,500 fine plus costs and fees and will lose his driver's license for 18 months. He also is prohibited from frequenting bars or drinking alcohol during his intermediate punishment period.

The defendant was charged by Shamokin police in connection with a May 28, 2014, incident.

Two vehicle crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Route 61 and Feeney Street.

Police report a 1995 Ford Ranger truck, driven by David Nowroski, of 127 E. Spurzheim St., Shamokin, and a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by John Pogera, of 124 Railroad St., Locust Gap, were traveling north in the passing lane of Route 61. Pogera was stopped at the traffic signal for a yellow light when the Equinox was struck in the rear by the truck.

Both vehicles sustained light damage, and police cited Nowroski for following too closely.

Drug charges filed

KULPMONT - Borough police charged Peggy Miller, 35, of 917 Chestnut St., Apt. B, with possession of a controlled substance, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after a June 19 incident in the 700 block of Fir Street.

Kulpmont Police Patrolman Patrick McAndrew reported officers were called to help state police for a patient evaluation. At the scene, Miller was being treated by ambulance personnel. Police say that in her possession was a red bag with the name "Kick" on the label, commonly used to package synthetic marijuana. Miller was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 5.

Burglary

SUNBURY - City police are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the overnight hours Wednesday in the 400 block of Fairmount Avenue.

Police say that someone entered a home through a back door while the resident wasn't home. The thief went through the home and removed several items, including a laptop, tablet, used cellphones and bank cards.

Sunbury police are asking if anyone has any video surveillance of any suspicious people in the area, from 3 p.m. Tuesday through the early morning hours of Wednesday, or who may have information on the burglary, to contact the Sunbury Police at 570-286-4587 or 570-988-4539.

Drug paraphernalia

KULPMONT - Ryan A. McKenna, 29, of 835 Spruce St., Kulpmont, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after his mother. Natalie Swank, reported seeing various items of drug paraphernalia in his room on May 4.

Swank told police that she found two glass smoking pipes containing burned residue, 136 plastic bags commonly used to package drugs and a pocket scale. When questioned, McKenna told police the pipes were not his, but admitted to using the scale and bags to measure and weigh marijuana when he used to sell it.

The charge against McKenna was filed by Kulpmont Police Chief Michael Pitcavage with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 5.

One-vehicle crash

DERRY TOWNSHIP - An Elysburg man was not injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Continental Boulevard, near Hillside Drive, in Derry Township, Montour County.

State police at Milton report a 2013 Ford Explorer, driven by Joseph A. Brokus, 57, was traveling east near the intersection of Continental and Hillside when Brokus drove off the right side of the road and down an embankment, striking several trees before the vehicle came to rest in a wooded area.

Brokus was not injured and the vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Police cited the Elysburg driver for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Littering

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police cited Lea Richardson, 19, of 2188 Irish Valley Road, Paxinos, and Abrielle Snyder, 19, of 26 Hess St., for littering.

Officers allege that Richardson and Snyder transported a number of large bags of household waste from a home in Mount Carmel and deposited them down an embankment at the southeast area of the Transfiguration Cemetery in late March.

The citations were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Disorderly conduct

KULPMONT - Kendall L. Dennison, 23, and Lillian S. Astick, 25, both of 1130 Scott St., were cited by Kulpmont Police Patrolman David Tomtishen for disorderly conduct after neighbors heard them fighting and using profanity for several hours at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday.

COAL TOWNSHIP - The following individuals and companies were cited by township code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich for various violations:

- Lisa O'Day, of 528 Ruben Kehrer Road, Lot 147, Muncy, was cited Tuesday for high brush, grass and weeds at a property at 1570 Pulaski Ave.

- Jennifer S. Sebasovich, of 1130 Tharp St., was cited Tuesday for an accumulation of appliances, tires, and old shower and garage doors beside a garage she owns on Tharp Street.

- Miguel Gonzalez Jr., of 441 18th St., Brooklyn, N.Y. was cited Wednesday for high brush, grass and weeds at a property he owns at 1430 W. Walnut St.

Two-vehicle crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 61 near the area known as the Brewery Curve at approximately 7 p.m. Saturday.

Township police Patrolman Matthew Hashuga reported a 2006 Dodge Caravan, driven by Albert Walters, 53, of Shamokin, was traveling west on Center Street. After stopping at the intersection with Route 61, he pulled out and attempted to cross four lanes of traffic to turn left and travel south on Route 61.

A 2014 Dodge Caravan, driven by Marilu McGirk, 49, of Coal Township, was traveling north on Route 61 and Walters pulled out into her lane of travel, causing a collision. A front-seat passenger Walters' vehicle, Amber Jweid, of Shamokin, and McGirk, complained of injuries and both went to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

The investigation is continuing.

Littering

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating a littering/dumping incident near Big Mountain Road, when someone dumped the entire body and contents of a Vega trailer. Anyone with information is asked to contact Coal Township Police.

Assault charge

SHAMOKIN - David A. Demarco, 25, of 429 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, is charged by Chief Darwin Tobias III with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. Demarco is accused of slapping a woman before grabbing her throat and pulling her hair at 9:51 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of North Vine Street. Police said Demarco threatened to kill the accuser, who reportedly suffered visible injury to her throat and left arm.

Lewd remarks

COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Montefusco, 47, of 508 E. Spurzheim St., Shamokin, is charged by Cpl. Terry Ketchem with harassment for allegedly making lewd remarks to a woman at The Shepherd's Table soup kitchen, Oak and Chestnut streets, at 5:20 p.m. Thursday.

DUI crash

SHAMOKIN - Jennifer Ryder, 24, of 32 Sherman St., Coal Township, is charged by Cpl. Bryan Primerano with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and a summary charge of accidents involving damage to unattended property. Police said Ryder was intoxicated when she crashed a sport utility vehicle into a parked car in the 400 block of South Shamokin Street at 3:12 a.m. June 19. Open container of beer and alcohol were found inside the SUV, police said. Ryder exhibited physical signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety testing, police said. Her blood alcohol content was 0.205 percent, according to a criminal complaint.

Drug counts

SHAMOKIN - Cody Z. Horne, 20, of 221 S. Diamond St., Shamokin, is charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Horne is accused of possessing suboxone without a prescription and also possessing small plastic baggies, a spoon with cocaine residue and a homemade pipe allegedly used to smoke crack cocaine. The incident occurred at 8:14 p.m. June 16 during a visit to his home by county probation officers.

Underage, rubbish

SHAMOKIN - Darcey Swift, 18, of 109 W. Commerce St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for underage drinking. Dylan Sessions, 21, of 332 S. Seventh St., Shamokin, was cited for scattering rubbish in the same incident. The two were discovered in a wooded area near Rock and Spruce streets at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday. Police said Sessions admitted to scattering beer cans and glass bottles in the area, where a concrete staircase leads from Gold Street on Academy Hill to Rock Street.

Punch to face

SHAMOKIN - Joyce A. Reitz, 45, of 3821 Schwaben Creek Road, Rebuck, was cited by Patrolman William Zalinski for harassment after allegedly striking a 23-year-old man in the face in the 500 block of North Market Street at 5:39 p.m. June 28. The accuser suffered a cut to his lower lip, police said.

Dog at large

SHAMOKIN - Kelly M. Haines, 34, of 418 E. Cameron St., was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for a dog ordinance violation at 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Police said Haines allowed her dog to run at large. The canine was allegedly observed in the streets, on neighboring porches and chasing other animals.

Public intoxication

SHAMOKIN - Three area residents were cited for public drunkenness stemming from separate incidents.

Kristin L. McCormick, of 41, of 1411 W. State St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Mark Costa. She was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when she was observed at Shamokin and Shakespeare streets at 2 p.m. Friday.

Jeffery Barber, 21, of 77 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle. He was allegedly passed out while lying on a path between the Patsy Steps and Terrace Avenue at 6:01 p.m. July 3.

Corey Feese, 25, of 530 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle. He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when observed in the 200 block of South Pearl Street at 4:18 a.m. June 20.

Obscene language

SHAMOKIN - Christopher L. Pielacha, 29, of 5521 Upper Road, Helfenstein, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for disorderly conduct. Pielacha is accused of screaming obscenities at a juvenile female and her father while at the rear of the 800 block of North Sixth Street at 11:38 p.m. July 4.

Guilty plea

SHAMOKIN - Mark Carnuccio, 42, of Coal Township, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of summary harassment and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic to pay a $200 fine plus court costs. A charge of simple assault was withdrawn. Carnuccio was released from jail, where he had been held since his arrest June 17.

False reports

SHAMOKIN - Calye Goldman, 26, of 107 Nottingham Drive, Elysburg, is charged by Cpl. Bryan Primerano with false reports. Police said Goldman initially reported on July 11 her grandmother's vehicle was damaged by a hit-and-run driver. She provided verbal and written statements to police before allegedly confessing that she lent it to a friend who reportedly caused the damage.

Shawn Wondoloski, of 450 S. Shamokin St., reported to police that his vehicle and trailer was damaged by a hit-and-run driver on July 11, and provided vehicle information matching Goldman's grandmother's vehicle, according to a criminal complaint.

Pot charge

SHAMOKIN - Curtis Groom, 26, of 1006 N. Orange St., Shamokin, is charged by Patrolman Shane Mowery with possession of a small amount of marijuana and public drunkenness. Police said Groom admitted to being intoxicated when he was discovered at 9:22 p.m. June 19 at Market and Willow streets looking in a parked vehicle. He's accused of possessing a small cigar containing marijuana.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Marcie Anne Howerter, 34, of 338 S. Beech St., Mount Carmel, is charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with retail theft for allegedly attempting to steal $73.49 in clothing and accessories from Walmart Supercenter at 4:58 p.m. June 27.

Curfew violation

SHAMOKIN - Two city males ages 16 and 15 were cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for curfew violations after they were observed near Water and Cleaver streets at 2:12 a.m. Friday.

Crash charges

COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas A. Reed, 42, of 918 W. Spruce St., Coal Township, is charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell Jr. with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and counts of driving with a suspended license related to DUI and careless driving. Police said Reed was intoxicated when he rear-ended another vehicle at Route 61 at Hospital Road at 7:51 p.m. June 21. He exhibited physical signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety testing, police said. His blood alcohol content was found to be 0.124 percent, according to a criminal complaint.

He was charged by Kulpmont Chief Michael Pitcavage with possessing two syringes, a glass pipe and a piece of foil with burnt residue following a probation visit to his home May 7.

n Charges of unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment were dismissed against Matt Lee Vallati, 33, of 522 W. Olive St., Mount Carmel, when the alleged victim refused to testify. Mount Carmel Patrolman Justin Stelma arrested Vallati on allegations that he assaulted a woman inside his home June 8, restrained her in a vehicle while driving to Halifax and threatened to kill her.

Run-away vehicle

COAL TOWNSHIP - A woman suffered a minor injury after attempting to stop her runaway vehicle about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Rhonda Zagata, 38, of 843 W. Wood St., injured her arm after attempting to stop her 2001 Chevorlet Malibu that she failed to put completely in park while parking in front of her home, according to Coal Township police. Zagata attempted to jump into the vehicle, but she got her arm stuck, causing the vehicle to drag her. The vehicle then struck a parked vehicle, owned by Marianna Persing, of 483 S. Shamokin St., then careened into a large tree. Both vehicles had minor damage.

Public drunkenness

MOUNT CARMEL - Christopher R. Schultz, 27, of 236 S. Poplar St., was cited by Patrolman Jason Drumheller with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found in a highly intoxicated state and lying in the street in the 00 block of South Vine Street at 5:50 a.m. June 27.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - A 17-year-old Coal Township male was cited for disorderly conduct, underage drinking and public drunkenness by Police Cpl. Jarrod Scandle. Police say he was discovered in near Sunbury and Franklin streets in an intoxicated state with several cans of beer at 6:16 a.m. June 20. The teen is accused of using obscenities toward police while taken into custody.

Vandalism

MOUNT CARMEL - Two 13-year-old Mount Carmel females were cited by Patrolman William Adamski for criminal mischief. The girls allegedly damaged flower beds along Oak Street between 2 and 3:30 a.m. June 6.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - John R. Valenskie, 37, of 325 E. Water St., was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Police say Valenskie was discovered intoxicated on a porch at 410 N. Rock St. at 12:33 a.m. July 9, and was in possession of a bottle of whiskey. Valenskie allegedly took a ladder from a garage and placed it on the roof of the home to try to get inside.

Harassment at store

MOUNT CARMEL - Police cited Thomas Crumlic, 55, of 414 S. Market St., with public drunkenness and harassment following a disturbance at 3:30 p.m. June 20 at the Puff's Tobacco Store on South Oak Street.

SHAMOKIN - Jennifer Aston, 43, of 1132 Tharp St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for harassment. She allegedly struck a man twice with a closed fist during an altercation on Walnut Street at 3:35 a.m. May 31.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Theresa L. Karim, 55, of 221 S. Oak St., was cited by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with disorderly conduct after an alleged disturbance at her residence at 12:30 a.m. July 4.

Fight in home

SHAMOKIN - Leon Fite, 32, of 250 S. Wood St., and Allen Derk, 48, of 244 S. Wood St., were both cited by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes for an alleged altercation at 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Police allege Fite slapped and pushed Derk inside Derk's home and then refused to leave. Derk allegedly struck Fite in the face.

Both men were cited for disorderly conduct while Fite also was cited for harassment after he allegedly yelled in the street and refused to leave the area after police ordered him to do so.

Two cited in fight

MOUNT CARMEL - Police cited Tara L. Brabitz, 41, of 624 Hillside Ave., Shamokin, and Shawn J. Matukaitis, 39, of 40 S. Maple St., Mount Carmel, for harassment for an alleged disturbance at Matukaitis's home at 3:30 a.m. July 6.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Daniel Vercruyssen, 36, of 311 S. Shamokin St., was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for disorderly conduct after allegedly ripping a woman's shirt during an altercation at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of South Shamokin Street.

Underage drinking

MOUNT CARMEL - Cody J. Little, 18, of 154 Montana Drive, Kulpmont, was cited by Patrolman Jason Drumheller for underage drinking following a traffic stop at 1:45 a.m. July 11 in the 00 block of North Oak Street.

DUI

STRONG - Dustin J. Murray, 19, of 505 E. Melrose St., Marion Heights, is charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and a summary traffic violation, driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Police say Murray was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse at 12:19 a.m. May 23 when the vehicle was allegedly observed swerving in the northbound lanes of Route 61. A vehicle stop was initiated near the Kulpmont borough line.

Murray allegedly failed field sobriety testing, and blood testing found marijuana in his system, according to a criminal complaint. Two methadone tablets, a glass jar with suspected marijuana residue and a crushed aluminum can allegedly used as a smoking device were discovered in his car, police said.

After Murray was remanded to Montour County Prison, Danville, a subsequent search of the police vehicle turned up a bag of marijuana and a marijuana cigarette, police said.

Urine charge

MOUNT CARMEL - Heather Ann Frank, 30, of 331 N. Vine St., is charged by Chief Todd Owens with furnishing drug-free urine and tampering with physical evidence. Parole agents told police Frank attempted to submit a false urine sample during a home visit at 7 a.m. June 25.

DUI arrest

MOUNT CARMEL - Brian G. Madden, 31, of 255 W. Saylor St., is charged by Patrolman William Adamski with two counts of driving under the influence and a summary charge of careless driving.

Police say Madden was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am that was stopped in the intersection of Second and Oak streets at 2:17 p.m. May 11. A witness reportedly took the keys from the vehicle's ignition along with Madden's wallet, and reports say Madden and a passenger were each passed out.

Madden failed field sobriety testing, police said. Blood testing found marijuana in his system, according to a criminal complaint.

Food theft

KULPMONT - Stephanie Lynn Marlow, 29, of 1333 Scott St., is charged by Chief Michael Pitcavage with retail theft. She's accused of stealing $15.75 in food from Turkey Hill, 862 Chestnut St., at 1:55 p.m. July 2.

Pot charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Abbigail Lee Seritsky, 18, of 916 Centre St., Ashland, is charged by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Seritsky was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at 10:19 p.m. March 13 following a traffic light violation at Third and Oak streets, according to a criminal complaint. Police say she possessed a glass smoking pipe, a marijuana grinder and less than one gram of marijuana inside her purse.

Drug charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Siobhan N. Heiser, 36, of 342 W. Mahanoy Ave., Girardville, is charged by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with nine criminal counts for allegedly stealing prescription medication from a Mount Carmel couple.

Heiser was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, possession with intent to deliver, theft, receiving stolen property, tampering or fabricating evidence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and misbranding a controlled substance. She was jailed at York County Prison on $50,000 bail.

Heiser is suspected of entering an unlocked door at 214 S. Poplar St. about 1 p.m. Monday and stealing several pill containers from Vera and Dennis Bucher. A witness confronted Heiser outside the home. About 8:45 p.m. police learned pill containers belonging to Vera Bucher were discovered in the first block of North Pear Street. At 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the rear of the 100 block of North Peach Street where Heiser allegedly repeatedly kicked the door of a residence.

She was taken into custody on a warrant from Lehigh County and was identified as a suspect in the reported burglary at the Buchers. Police say Heiser was found in possession of dozens of prescription pills and tablets, including some narcotics like oxycodone and other general medications for heart burn. Prescriptions belonging to Dennis Bucher were found in her purse, police say. She also allegedly possessed a straw and mirror, both with residue from a white powder.

Fight charges

SHAMOKIN - Two men arranged by text message to meet and fight over a woman, according to police.

Brian Burke and Jonathan Mazak allegedly fought outside Dobson's Carpet Service, 545 W. Walnut St., at 3:35 a.m. May 31. As Burke charged Mazak with his hands in fists, Mazak pulled a baseball bat from a parked vehicle and swung it at Burke, according to a criminal complaint. The bat was taken away, but the fight continued on the ground in front of multiple bystanders, police say.

The incident was reportedly captured on video. A vehicle was damaged in the process.

Mazak, 31, of 351 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, is charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with disorderly conduct, possessing an instrument of crime and simple assault. Burke, 41, of 1305 W. Arch St., Coal Township, is charged by Weaver with disorderly conduct.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Caitlin I. Bitler, 26, of 343 S. Diamond St., Shamokin, is charged by Patrolman Chad Yoder with retail theft. Police say she attempted to steal children's shoes, diapers and other merchandise valued at $46.61. The alleged incident occurred at 5:56 p.m. June 9 at Walmart Supercenter.

Head shove

SHAMOKIN - Michael Block, 62, of 318 N. Rock St., was cited by Chief Darwin Tobias III for harassment. Block allegedly reached into a vehicle and shoved the head of a 19-year-old Coal Township male at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Domestic disturbance

COAL TOWNSHIP - Maria Hill, 32, and Autumn Englehardt, 34, both of 1647 Tioga St., Coal Township, were charged by Patrolman David Sage with simple assault and harassment involving a disturbance at their home at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

Police said Hill is accused of throwing at Englehardt a television remote control device, which missed her. She also allegedly pulled Englehardt's hair and caused her to fall toward a staircase that had exposed carpet strips and nails. Police said Englehardt suffered an injury to the middle finger on her right hand and marks on her face.

Englehardt is accused of fighting with Hill, who suffered scratch marks on her left arm.

Both women were arraigned at 7:45 p.m. Sunday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and released on $5,000 unsecured bail apiece.

Criminal trespass

SHAMOKIN - Ronald Morgenstern, 45, of 156 E. Independence St., Apt. 2-A, Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Shane Mowery for criminal trespass for allegedly entering a fenced yard area at Shamokin and Chestnut streets at 1:45 a.m. July 8.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Dennis Kroh reported to police someone damaged an interior garage door at his property at 809 Stevens St. between July 10 and 17. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 570-644-0333.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Megan Owen, 33, of 1059 Hoffman St., Elmira, N.Y., and Ramon E. Torres, 43, of 8 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, were cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting and yelling in the street at Franklin and Chestnut streets at 3:22 a.m. July 18.

Public drunkenness

Brandon Dorsett, 18, of 1103 W. Mulberry St., was hit with a dry stun from a Taser, handcuffed at the wrists and flex-cuffed at the ankles as three officers attempted to take him into custody about 3:10 a.m. Sunday near Shamokin and Shakespeare streets, according to a criminal complaint.

A witness told police he suspected Dorsett ingested an unknown type of drug. Police say Dorsett was heavily sweating and acting bizarrely by kissing and licking the ground as they attempted to communicate. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

A second witness told police she was stopped at Shamokin and Spurzheim streets when Dorsett jumped onto the hood and roof of her vehicle, causing damage. A third witness told police Dorsett was attempting to run into moving traffic and was jumping onto parked cars in the 400 and 500 blocks of North Shamokin Street.

Dorsett is charged by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes with open lewdness, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public drunkenness. Patrolman Scott Weaver and Coal Township Cpl. Josh Wynn assisted.

Domestic charges

SHAMOKIN - Marilyn Hughes, 23, and Drew Wagner, 25, both of 831 E. Clay St., are charged by Patrolman Ray Siko II with simple assault and harassment for an alleged domestic disturbance inside their home about 5 p.m. July 15. Hughes claims Wagner shoved her into a wall and grabbed her by her neck in an attempt to pin her to the floor, while Wagner alleges she struck him in the face multiple times, according to a criminal complaint.

TV for heroin

COAL TOWNSHIP - Marquese T. Seger, 23, of 907 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, is charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a flat-screen television from his mother on June 13 at their home. The 48-inch Sanyo television is valued at $350. Police say Seger admitted to trading the television for heroin. He is currently jailed at SCI-Coal Township.

Public intoxication

SHAMOKIN - Dylan J. Frilot, 25, of 1769 Tioga St., Coal Township, was cited by Chief Darwin Tobias III with public drunkenness after he allegedly was observed urinating between parked vehicles at Water and Rock streets about 2:20 a.m. July 11.

Harassment citation

SHAMOKIN - Roger S. Miller II, 34, of 229 W. Sunbury St., is cited by Chief Darwin Tobias III with harassment. Police say Miller broke items inside his home and allegedly shoved and struck a 23-year-old female about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Guilty plea

SHAMOKIN - Jeffery E. Barber Jr., 21, of 77 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $300 fine plus costs.

Barber was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Shane Mowery in connection with a June 16 incident at the city police station.

One hurt in crash

FRAILEY TOWNSHIP - Irene M. Tettemer, 81, of Dalmatia, suffered a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash at 5:01 p.m. Friday on Route 209 near Joliett Street in this Schuylkill County township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven report Tettemer was traveling north on Route 209 in a 2012 Chevrolet Impala when she said her blood sugar dropped rapidly. The medical condition caused the driver to travel off the right side of the road of Route 209 and strike a utility pole, bringing the vehicle to a stop.

Tettemer suffered minor injuries in the crash and was treated at the scene. Assisting police were Tremont EMS and members of the Donaldson Fire Department.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in two hit-and-run accidents within moments of each other at about midnight Thursday on Race and Chestnut streets.

Police said the hit-and-run vehicle, which may be a Jeep Grand Cherokee, struck a parked 2000 Ford truck in the driver's side rear quarter panel, causing minor damage. The truck is owned by Gerald Clements, of 1101 E. Race St., Coal Township.

Police said the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle then fled from the area on Hunter Street before turning onto Chestnut Street, where it struck a parked 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee owned by Dina Ducharme, of 1027 E. Chestnut St., Coal Township. Ducharme's vehicle sustained minor damage to its driver's side rear quarter panel and door.

The hit-and-run vehicle, which continued east on Chestnut Street, should have damage to its passenger side front head light and quarter panel.

Public drunkenness

COAL TOWNSHIP - Danielle Aikey, 26, of Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct involving a disturbance at 4:39 a.m. Thursday inside and outside Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, while seeking treatment at the emergency room.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Carole Whiting, 49, of 1211 N. Pearl St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman William Zalinski for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a disturbance at 9:23 a.m. Tuesday in her block.
